Pīhoihoi / Pipit

The Pīhoihoi is a brown and white songbird that resembles a Lark (or a slightly stretched out Sparrow, if we’re honest). Despite this unassuming appearance, they're incredibly lively, friendly birds, who let out a confident “Tzweep!” all year long. For most New Zealanders, the Pīhoihoi is as culturally ingrained (and ignored) as Shortland Street, heartily singing their song all over the landscape. This makes the fact that it is gradually declining in numbers even more upsetting, because though we may not always notice the Pīhoihoi, it’s an integral part of our landscape and our beautiful collective story. Thats why we're giving 30% of proceeds to Forest & Bird, to help them continue protect and preserve birds like the Pīhoihoi and many others. 

The Pīhoihoi is the perfect gift for anyone who has a mild wardrobe, but a cracking personality. It’s also ideal for lovers of wide fields, marshes and forests, and of course, anyone who wants to do something good for Pipits.
